After you have completed your order on our webshop, you will receive a confirmation email. In this confirmation you will find your invoicing and address details, the articles and shipping costs and the total amount.

Once we have received your payment, we will process and ship your order, when goods are available, as soon as possible.

Once your order is transferred to BPost, you will receive an email with the track and trace code within 24 hours.

The payment options in the webshop are Bancontact (Belgium), iDEAL (The Netherlands) or Credit Card. With Bancontact, iDEAL or Credit Card you can pay your online purchases safely and easily.

When placing the order, it is possible to specify a delivery address that differs from the billing address.

All jewelry is carefully packed in a protective transparent micro box, which fits through the mailbox. This is to ensure that your order arrives in good, undamaged condition.

The packages are sent within Belgium via letter post a €5 with track and trace. If the order value is higher than €99, then shipping is free. For customers from the Netherlands the parcels are sent via parcel post with track and trace (€9), including insurance.

For customers from other countries, the shipping costs (including track and trace and insurance) are determined at checkout.

If an incorrect address is given, the responsibility lies entirely with the customer.

We are all about a satisfied customer. Therefore we want you to be more than happy with your purchase.

If you are not, you have the right to return your order up to 14 days after you received it.  If you want to return, please send an email within 2 weeks to info@niniscolours.be.

There is no exchange process. You can of course order new ones in our shop.

If you ordered for 99 € or more, whereby the shipping costs were free, the amount to be refunded will be deducted from the shipping costs of 5 € if this means that the products to be kept are below 99 €.

For our Boho collections we work with faceted and rocaille/seed beads. We also often work with natural stone pearls, freshwater pearls as Swarovski pearls. The first two come from nature and have the charm that each pearl is unique. This is not the case with Swarovski pearls, but then again these are perfect and identical.

Sterling silver (925)

The precious metal silver in its purest form (also called fine silver) cannot be used for jewelry. Because pure silver is very soft. Therefore other metals are added to the pure silver.

Sterling silver is an alloy and consists of at least 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% other metals, usually copper. The addition of another metal serves only to improve its quality and in no way detracts from it: it is necessary to give the soft silver strength and durability so that it can be worked and made into jewelry, among other things.

The Sterling Silver standard requires that the alloy Sterling silver 925 has a silver quantity of 92.5% pure silver. Often you will find a ‘925’ sign engraved on Sterling silver jewelry, jewelry parts, tableware, silver or other valuables. Of course, Sterling silver is nickel-free.

Vermeil and gold-filled

As with silver, pure gold (24kt) is too soft for jewelry making. Therefore jewelry is made from alloys, i.e. gold is mixed with other materials such as silver, copper or zinc. Because we find it important that the gold layer stays on as long as possible, we work with durable quality, or vermeil, gold-plated and gold-filled.

To be called vermeil, the base must consist of pure sterling silver, hence ‘gold on silver’. Only gold and silver must be involved and no other metal. The gold layer must be at least 10 carats of gold or higher.

The gold layer sooner or later wears off the silver. But by taking good care of vermeil (see care advice), you can enjoy it as long as possible.

Gold plated

Vermeil is not the same as gold plated: gold plated means that one or more layers of gold have been applied to a nickel-free metal.  The advantage of this is that it cannot oxidize so no black deposit can occur.

For sure, all materials are of course 100% nickel-free.

In addition to our maintenance advice for specific materials, here are some general tips:

Do not wear jewelry while showering, swimming or in the sauna. And don’t leave them in the bathroom or in a damp room either,

because condensation can cause discoloration in the long run.

Makeup, hairspray and perfume contain substances that can corrode jewelry and even stain it.

Therefore, only put on your jewelry when you have finished showering and/or making up.

Sleep without jewelry. This can damage them considerably.

Do not wear jewelry during strenuous work. The beauty of most jewelry is not resistant to perspiration

And you can damage or lose your jewelry.

Store your jewelry separately from each other so that the harder gemstones cannot damage the metals (silver and gold on silver) and the soft gemstones.

And preferably in a gripping bag and in a dark closet. This way no light and air gets to them and less oxidation occurs.

Do not expose the jewelry to the sun or too much daylight for too long (store them anyway when you are not wearing them). Gemstones in particular can become discolored by this.

Not all gemstones thrive in water. This is especially true of soft gemstones such as, for example, Opal, Amber, Coral, Peridot, Turquoise, Malachite and Lapis Lazuli. In this case, it is best to free the gemstones of dust and dirt with a damp cloth. This also applies to crystals.

Pearls are best rubbed with a dry, soft cloth and worn often; the natural fat on your skin makes them shine even more!

Although gold doesn’t get dirty as quickly as silver, it can look less beautiful after a while. Don’t use a silver cloth here, because it can rub off the gold layer.

If some tarnish has developed or some dust or other dirt has gotten into the jewelry, clean it with a damp cloth in lukewarm soapy water with a little (!) detergent. You can also use a soft toothbrush for this, but don’t brush too hard, because the gold layer can be rubbed off with it! Then dry them with a soft cloth (no silver cloth!). Exception with some stones that prefer not to have the above.

How long the gold layer remains on the base metals also depends on the acidity of the skin. One person’s gold layer will wear off faster than another’s.

Sterling silver can oxidize (turn black), simply by the outside air and under the influence of the acidity (PH-value) of your skin.

This is a natural process which can be remedied by polishing the silver very lightly with a silver cloth.

Be careful with silver polish; it easily gets into nooks and crannies which is difficult to remove. Do not wax the silver cloth; the blacker it gets, the better it does its job.

You can also clean silver or gold on silver with a jewelry cleaner, available from a jeweler/goldsmith. Or you can have the jewelry polished at a jeweler/ goldsmith. However, discoloration and oxidation cannot be completely prevented.

We strongly recommend removing your jewelry before engaging in any activities that can lead to contact with moisture or friction (ie: washing your hands, sleeping and showering) to maintain luster and prolong life.

Any defects or wrongly delivered products must be reported to Nini’s Colours in writing or by e-mail within 2 weeks after delivery. Return of the products must be in the original packaging and in new condition. The warranty does not apply if:

You have repaired and/or modified the delivered products yourself or have them repaired and/or modified by third parties;

The delivered products have been exposed to abnormal conditions or otherwise carelessly handled or contrary to the instructions of Nini’s Colours (check maintenance advice in the frequently asked questions) and / or on the packaging;

The inadequacy is wholly or partially the result of government regulations that have been or will be imposed on the nature or quality of the materials used.
